Learn the basics of making a fusible fabric collage using strips of fabric and Laura Heine’s pattern “Making Fish.” As you make the fish, they start to develop their own unique personalities. They can be made into table runners, wall hangings, pillows and quilts! Laura Heine’s pattern includes instructions for making the fish into four 14x22” placemats. Get started on this fun and easy technique – no sewing necessary until time to quilt. Techniques taught include –transferring a design onto foundation fabric, using steam-a-seam 2, fussy cutting motifs and more to create a colorful fish from a simple, black line drawing. In addition, color choices and placement of fabrics to create depth and movement in your work will be discussed. This is a design class and does not require a sewing machine for the class. Quilting suggestions will be discussed for finishing at home.
